Marina Kaufman

Plating engineer at Xtalic

Marina Kaufman has over forty years of work experience in the chemical and plating industries. Marina began their career in 1972 as a Chemist at VEF Company, where they were responsible for setting up small-scale production units and working on plating of nickel, copper, zinc, cadmium, tin and its alloys on various metals. Marina also studied the defects and plating methods to determine and correct plating problems and developed methods of stripping poor quality plating without etching bases. In 1992, they became a Laboratory Technician at Technic, Inc. where they were responsible for testing electroplating samples using X-ray, hardness and porosity tests, as well as research, development and evaluation of new methods of plating, cleaning, etching surface and color formulation. Marina also developed and introduced a new plating solution of nickel-free alloy gold into production. In 1994, they were hired as a Lab Manager/Chemist at Handy and Harman Electronic Materials, where they provided technical support for production of all wet and dry chemical additives, as well as trouble-shooting of all customer needs, including analytical and metallurgical work. In 2000, they joined Metalor Technologies SA as an R&D Chemist/Process Engineer. Her responsibilities included the development of new plating chemical solutions, development and analysis of new additives, manufacturing of various concentrates for cross-industry uses, and the development and marketing of one of the most lucrative products produced by Metalor Technologies. Finally, in 2010, they became a Plating Engineer at Xtalic Corporation.

Marina Kaufman obtained their M.S in Chemistry from the Polytechnic Institute.
