Scott Wertel, P.E.

Scott Wertel, P.E. has worked in various roles in the engineering field since 2006. In 2006, they started Wertel Enterprises, LLC, a freelance consulting firm specializing in mechanical design and engineering. In 2007, they began working at Auer Precision Company as a Project/Design Engineer, where they designed turn-key automated equipment, electronics processing equipment, and progressive dies and sheet metal equipment. From 2008 to 2016, they worked at Nammo Talley, Inc. as a Configuration Manager and Sr. Project Engineer. During their time there, they merged the Detail Design and Drafting department with the Document Control department and added new responsibilities to fill a gap in configuration management. In 2017, they became a National American University Business and Industry Board Member. In 2019, they were appointed Chief of Engineering Excellence at The Institute for Process Excellence. In 2021, they began working as an Engineering Manager at KAEKO, Inc., Configuration Management Engineer at XTI Aircraft Company, and Content Trustee (Board Member) at Digital Enterprise Society. Finally, in 2022, they became a Global Solution Architect at Dassault Systèmes.

Scott Wertel, P.E. holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering which they obtained between 1994 and 1998. In 2016, they received a Solid Edge Certified Professional certification from Siemens PLM Software. Scott also obtained a CMIIP certification from the Institute of Configuration Management in September 2016, a CMIIA certification from the Institute of Configuration Management in January 2013, a CMIIC certification from the Institute of Configuration Management in March 2011, and a CMIIB certification from the Institute of Configuration Management in February 2011. In December 2004, they received a Registered Professional Engineer - Mechanical certification from the Arizona Board of Technical Registration. In 2018, they obtained a Master of Business Administration - MBA in Business Administration and Management, General from National American University. Additionally, they received a Registered Professional Engineer certification from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Registration in February 2018, and a Registered Professional Engineer - Mechanical certification from the Washington State Department of Licensing in August 2017.
