Sue Halligan

Co-Founder at Xylyx Bio

Sue Halligan has an extensive work history in research and laboratory coordination. Sue started their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University from August 2009 to February 2011. Sue then joined Columbia University in the City of New York in August 2012, initially as a Research Assistant in the Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering until December 2013. From January 2014 to December 2021, Sue served as the Laboratory Coordinator for the same laboratory. In January 2022, they transitioned to the role of Director of Research Operations at Columbia University. Additionally, Sue co-founded Xylyx Bio, Inc. (formerly East River BioSolutions, Inc.) in February 2016, where they remain involved as a Co-Founder.

Sue Halligan pursued their education from 2005 to 2008 at St. John's University, where they earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Physical Science with a focus on Biomedical Engineering. Later, from 2008 to 2011, they attended the Polytechnic Institute of New York University and achieved a Master's of Science degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering.
