Gihan Wijerathne

Gihan Wijerathne is an experienced software engineer currently serving as the Associate Technical Lead at Yaala Labs since September 2019, previously holding the title of Specialist Software Engineer. Gihan has a robust background in software engineering with prior positions at LSEG Technology and ZOOMi Technologies Inc. Gihan's career began at MillenniumIT and includes a role as an Assistant Research Engineer at the Sri Lanka Air Force. Gihan also contributed to academia as a Visiting Lecturer at the Institute of Indigenous Medicine - University of Colombo. Gihan holds a Bachelor of Science in Computational Physics from the University of Colombo, a Higher Education Qualification in Computing from BCS - The Chartered Institute for IT, and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Moratuwa, complementing musical education from Bhatkhande Music Institute.
