Boomer Kennedy began their work experience as a Social Studies Teacher at Glenn High School in 2008. Boomer then moved on to become an Assistant Principal at South Stokes High School in 2012. In 2014, they became a Principal at Nancy Reynolds Elementary School and later transitioned to the role of Principal at Forbush High School in 2016. In 2020, Boomer Kennedy joined Yadkin County Schools as the Director of Secondary Schools.
Boomer Kennedy has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Social Studies Education, which was obtained from Wake Forest University in the years 2004-2008. Following this, Boomer pursued a Master's degree in School Administration at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 2011 to 2013. Boomer then furthered their education by obtaining a Specialist in Education Degree (Ed.S.) in Educational Leadership from the same university, studying from 2013 to 2015. Finally, Boomer completed a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 2015 to 2019.
