Dayna May has over 15 years of work experience. In 2017, they began working at Yahara Software as a Project Manager and Business Analyst. At Yahara, they listen to the needs of clients, understands their drivers, and works with Yahara's technical leads to design a system that helps the business achieve their goals.

Before Yahara, Dayna May worked at Epic from 2004-2017. During their time at Epic, they held various roles, including Implementation Director, Upgrade Assistance Director, and Application Manager. As Implementation Director, they were responsible for managing multi-million dollar implementations and developing and owning the project plan, budget, and successful delivery of software. As Upgrade Assistance Director, they created a new service line and a new revenue stream for the company, as well as developed marketing materials and presented on productivity gains to C-suite audiences. As Application Manager, they assisted sales by demonstrating software to new, potential customers, conducted process improvement with a focus on efficiency, quality improvement, and risk management, and developed training materials designed to build confidence and competence for new software users.

In 2003, Dayna May also held a role on the Liberal Arts and Management Program Student Board at Indiana University Bloomington. In this role, they brainstormed with LAMP directors and professors to continually improve opportunities for LAMP students, and discussed topics such as philanthropy, course topics, and the future direction of the program.

Dayna May attended Indiana University Bloomington from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology. Additionally, they attended Boğaziçi University in 2003 for Turkish Language and Literature. Dayna May also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
