Kate Heilpern

Kate Heilpern, M.D. serves as the Executive Vice President at Yale New Haven Health and President of Yale New Haven Hospital since March 2024. Previously, Kate held the position of Chief at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital from April 2022 to March 2024, where responsibilities included advancing professionalism and team dynamics across a network of ten hospitals. Prior to that role, Kate was the Group Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for NYP/Weill Cornell, overseeing operations and performance for multiple hospitals. Kate's earlier career at Emory University School of Medicine involved significant leadership roles, including Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Executive Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Professional Development. Kate's professional journey began with a medical officer position at the DHHS US Public Health Service Indian Health Service after earning an MD from Emory University School of Medicine and a BA from the University of Virginia.
