Surendra Bhattarai is a PhD scholar in the Department of Astronomy at Yale University, beginning in August 2024. Prior to this, Surendra completed a BS-MS in Physics at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata from 2019 to 2024, during which participation in the Vijyoshi National Science Camp occurred in 2019. Surendra worked as a Chegg Q&A Expert in Physics and Mathematics from October 2022 to May 2024, and contributed to a Master's Thesis at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) from May 2023 to April 2024, focusing on mass enhancement mechanisms in magnetized white dwarfs under the supervision of Professor Banibrata Mukhopadhyay. Additional experiences include a teaching assistantship for a Computational Physics course at IISER Kolkata in early 2023, a research internship at IUCAA in 2022, participation in various astronomy programs, and contributions to projects related to radio astronomy and active galactic nuclei.
