Onur Arpacıoğlu

Onur Arpacıoğlu, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of technology and research. Onur is currently serving as the Director of Artificial Intelligence Applications and R&D at Yapı Kredi Teknoloji, where they lead the R&D activities and manages teams working on various projects and products involving AI, data science, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, speech processing, blockchain, and quantum computing technologies.

Prior to their current role, Onur worked at NETAş, a company that develops IP-based multimedia communication solutions. During their time there, they held the positions of Research Development Group Manager and Software Architect. Onur managed teams working on the R&D of key products and also led the technical development of various features.

Onur has also worked at Ribbon Communications (formerly Genband) and GENBAND, where they served as a Research Development Group Manager and Software Architect. These roles involved managing teams and leading the technical development of various software products.

Earlier in their career, Onur worked as a Senior Software R&D Engineer at Nortel Networks, where they were responsible for developing and implementing AS features for multiple releases. Onur also spent time at Cornell University as a Research Assistant in the Wireless Networks Laboratory, conducting research and publishing papers on wireless network scalability. Onur also worked as a Teaching Assistant during their time at Cornell.

Onur's academic background includes a PhD and undergraduate research experience at Bogazici University.

Onur Arpacıoğlu, PhD, completed their education in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Onur earned their Bachelor of Science degree from Boğaziçi University in 2001. Onur then pursued their Master of Science degree at Cornell University from 2001 to 2004. Continuing their academic journey, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University from 2004 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Onur Arpacıoğlu has also obtained several certifications in various fields such as leadership, artificial intelligence, communication, creative thinking, and strategic planning. These certifications were obtained from reputable institutions such as Emeritus, Columbia Business School, and LinkedIn.
