Hanan I. Malkawi

Hanan I. Malkawi is an esteemed academic and leader with extensive experience in higher education and scientific research. Currently serving as a member of the Scientific Committee for the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation Arab Researchers Award, Malkawi contributes to the recognition and promotion of scientific excellence within the Arab world. As a member of the Board of Trustees at the German-Jordanian University, endorsed by Royal Decree, and the Board of Directors for the Global Impact Initiative, significant leadership roles have been held. Malkawi has also held positions at Yarmouk University as a professor in the Department of Biology and as the Vice President for Research and International Relations, overseeing the university's research initiatives. The academic background includes a PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from Washington State University, alongside Master's and Bachelor's degrees in related fields.
