Nick Andrewes is an experienced Applications Engineer at YASA, specializing in marine, industrial, and defense applications since September 2023, focusing on system design and integration of axial flux motors. Previously, Nick served as a Development Engineer at Polestar from September 2022 to August 2023, where responsibilities included powertrain calibration and integration on Polestar 5 prototypes. Prior to that, Nick was a Senior Calibration Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover from September 2017 to September 2022, leading calibration and software integration for fuel systems. Nick began as a Graduate Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover before gaining experience as an Undergraduate Research and Development Engineer at Caterpillar Inc. from June 2015 to June 2016. Nick holds a degree in Automotive Engineering from Coventry University and completed the ACCEL program at Ricardo Academy in 2018.

YASA was founded on the principle that small, light electric motors would play a growing role in meeting both the strict emissions targets being set globally in a wide range of industries and the requirement for greater efficiency through electrification.The Company was incorporated in 2009 based on a unique patented motor technology invented bythe Company’s founder and CTO Dr Tim Woolmer whilst studying for his DPhil at Oxford University. The unique YASA motor technology is ideal for a range of mobile applications such as hydraulics replacement, power generation, traction and propulsion and hybridisation. YASA Motors manufactures a range of standard electric motors and generators based on our unique motor topology at our factory and Company Headquarters in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The YASA-750, YASA-250 and YASA-400 products have been designed to be integrated into customers’ products in a range of markets and industries with minimal application engineering. In addition to our standard products, YASA has a design and development team dedicated to making bespoke motors for customers for medium-high volume applications.
