Mahdi Chaal

Mahdi Chaal has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries and roles. In their most recent position at Yassir (YC W20) as the Senior Manager-BP&MI (Commercial Strategy), they conducted in-depth analysis of business trends, competitive dynamics, and internal data to identify new growth opportunities and assess business performance. Mahdi also led research projects on ride-hailing services, food delivery services, ecommerce, and on-demand delivery groceries.

Prior to their role at Yassir, Mahdi worked at ooredoo Algeria, where they served as the Budget Planning & Reporting Manager, responsible for tracking and reporting key performance indicators related to commercial activities and providing regular reports and adhoc analysis to top management. Mahdi also gathered and analyzed data for business planning and monitored the performance of marketing business segments.

Before joining ooredoo Algeria, Mahdi held various positions in market research and intelligence at the same company. Mahdi handled market research projects, ensuring the entire process from understanding business objectives to data collection and analysis. Mahdi also analyzed and interpreted data using statistical procedures and methodologies.

Mahdi's earlier experiences include working as a Partner's Support Service Advisor, a Customer Service Advisor, and an Applied Statistics Teacher in a private school. Mahdi also worked as a Statistician Analyst at sonelgaz, where they conducted statistical engineering projects and electricity load forecasting.

In their first professional role at Institut national du travail, Mahdi worked as an investigation officer, responsible for collecting information from targeted companies, interviewing business leaders and employees, and participating in survey preparation.

Mahdi Chaal completed their education at various institutions. From 2003 to 2008, they attended ENSSEA École nationale supérieure de statistique et d'économie appliquée, where they earned a degree in Applied Statistics as a Statistician & Planning Engineer. In 2009 to 2010, they enrolled in the First Year for a Master Degree in Industrial Engineering, specifically in Industrial Management & Logistics Systems at Ecole Nationale Polytechnique. Prior to that, they obtained a Scientific High School Diploma from El mokrani 1 High School from 1998 to 2001.

Additionally, Mahdi Chaal has acquired several certifications. In 2022, they obtained an ASCEND certificate of training from the Immigrant Employment Council of BC. Mahdi also possesses a Planning and Statistics Engineering Master's degree, certified by the World Education Services in January 2021. In 2019, they completed the Digital Training Programme offered by Circus Street. Furthermore, they hold various Coursera Course Certificates, including Process Improvement from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (obtained in December 2015), The Data Scientist's Toolbox from Johns Hopkins University (obtained in August 2015), and Data Analysis and Statistical Inference from Duke University (obtained in May 2015).
