Gareth Berry's work experience includes roles in various software engineering positions. Gareth worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Yellow Card App starting in 2022. Prior to that, they were an Engineering Lead at Invictus Capital from 2020 to 2022. In this role, they were responsible for architecting and maintaining microservices, integrating with blockchain technology, and developing front-end and mobile applications. Gareth also conducted one-on-one meetings and performance reviews with team members and facilitated agile ceremonies. Before Invictus Capital, Gareth worked as a Software Engineer at Entelect from 2019 to 2020. Their responsibilities included migrating financial report generation to a microservice architecture and adding new APIs to the Allan Gray landscape. Testing was a crucial aspect of this project. Prior to Entelect, Gareth worked as a Software Engineer at Andile Solutions from 2017 to 2019. In this role, they modernized and simplified the hedging process for clients in the capital markets sector by implementing a microservice architecture with a React web application front-end.
Gareth Berry completed their education at the University of the Witwatersrand. Gareth first obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics from 2011 to 2014. Afterwards, they pursued a BSc Honours degree in Physics from 2015 to 2016. Finally, they completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physics from 2016 to 2017.
