Marisa L. McMichael

Marisa L. McMichael is an aspiring aerospace engineer currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. With experience as a Health and Wellness Mentor and Coach in the Georgia Tech EXCEL Program, Marisa supports first-year students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in developing essential life skills. As Vice President of Events for IfYoureReadingThis.org, Marisa coordinates mental health events, focusing on destigmatizing mental health conversations. Additionally, Marisa serves as Communications Lead and Events Lead for the Yellow Jacket Space Program, enhancing social media presence and fostering collaboration with other campus organizations. Research experience includes modeling biophilic environments at the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory and contributing to small satellite projects with the Georgia Tech Space Systems Design Laboratory. Marisa has also completed summer internships at Cisco, involving hands-on programming projects, and has been featured as background talent in various film projects.
