Annette Janik

Annette Janik has extensive experience in community engagement and education, currently serving as the Community Director for Yelp in Detroit since October 2010, where responsibilities include event planning, marketing direction, and support for small businesses and the local Yelp community. Previously, Annette held the position of Senior Community Manager at Yelp, with similar duties. Prior to Yelp, Annette was an Instructor at DePaul University, leading adult education courses and assessing students' skills, and also worked as the Coordinator of Assessment and Retention, supporting student systems initiatives. Annette's earlier experience includes co-organizing fundraising events for V-Day DePaul and promoting music artists for Universal Records. Annette holds a Master of Arts in Multicultural and Organizational Communication and a Bachelor's degree in Communication, both from DePaul University.
