Miguel Galarza

Miguel Galarza has a diverse work experience in the engineering and construction industry. Miguel started their career in 1991 as a Project Manager at Hopkins Heating & Cooling. From there, they worked as a DoD Program Manager at Mendelian Construction Inc until 2002. In 2002, they became the President of Yerba Buena Engineering and Construction Inc. In 2003, they served as a Board Member at the San Francisco Bay Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. From 2017 onwards, they have been a Business Mentor at LBAN/Latino Business Action Network. In 2020, they took on the role of Board Secretary and Chair of the Public Affairs Committee at the Contractors State License Board. In 2021, they became a University Lecturer at UC Berkeley Extension and, in 2022, they joined City College of San Francisco as a Faculty Lecturer. Overall, Miguel Galarza has a broad range of experience in various roles within the engineering and construction industry, as well as involvement in business mentorship and chamber of commerce positions.

Miguel Galarza holds a Master's degree in Construction Management from Louisiana State University, which they obtained from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed a Certificate in Executive Education from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in 2007-2008. Miguel also pursued a degree in Construction Management at San Francisco State University from 1991 to 1994, and later obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Everglades University in the same field of study from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, Miguel attended Balboa High School from 1976 to 1979. Miguel Galarza has obtained several additional certifications, including Conflicts of Interest from the CITI Program in May 2022, Responsible Conduct of Research for Engineers from the CITI Program, and Pipeline Assessment Certification from the National Association of Sewer Service Companies in March 2017.
