Ah-Tavia Maxey

Ah-Tavia Maxey currently serves as the Founding Principal at YES Prep Public Schools since August 2023. Prior to this, Maxey held the position of Principal in Resident at KIPP Texas Public Schools from July 2022 to October 2023 and at IDEA Public Schools from July 2021 to October 2023, experiencing intensive leadership development across Texas and Southern Louisiana. Earlier roles include serving as an Instructional Coach for Richmond Public Schools from August 2020 to July 2021, where support was provided to math teachers, and as an Interventionist and Instructional Coach at Petersburg City Public Schools from August 2016 to August 2020. Maxey began a career in education as a teacher at Petersburg Public School from August 2013 to June 2016. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from Virginia State University and two Master's degrees from Grand Canyon University in Administration and Elementary Education and Teaching.
