Garen Torikian

Garen Torikian has extensive experience in the technology industry, with a strong focus on technical writing and documentation. Garen is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Yetto since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Contract Technical Writer at Dev Spotlight starting in October 2020. From May 2019 to March 2021, Garen worked as a Contract Writer and Docs Tools Specialist for BottleCap Technology, where they automated the API documentation build process. Garen also wrote blog posts and marketing content for Heroku from December 2018 to September 2021. Before that, Garen worked at GitHub as a Platform Engineer and Technical Writer from January 2013 to October 2018. Garen played a key role in designing and building documentation tooling for the platform. Additionally, Garen has experience as a Backend Developer at Cloud9 IDE, where they developed and maintained Node.js modules for generating documentation. Garen also optimized performance and wrote API documentation for various tools. Garen started their career at Salesforce as a Senior Technical Writer and later became a Senior Member of the Technical Staff on the Documentation Team. Garen worked at Autodesk as an API Technical Writer from September 2006 to March 2008.

Garen Torikian has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, which they obtained from 2002 to 2006. In 2019 to 2020, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Literary Translation from the University of East Anglia. From 2020 to 2022, Garen attended Columbia University to receive a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Fiction. Additionally, they also hold a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from the University of Southern California, which they earned during the same period as their computer science degree.
