YMCA Camp Sloper
Diego Mendez is currently serving as the HuskyTHON Marketing Captain for the HuskyTHON Miracle Network Dance Marathon since June 2024 and has been a Camp Counselor at YMCA Camp Sloper since June 2023. Previously, Diego worked as a Crew Member at Dunkin' from April 2022 to April 2023. Diego is an alumnus of the University of Connecticut and Southington High School.

YMCA Camp Sloper
YMCA Camp Sloper services over 40,000 youth throughout the year through teambuilding, school group, rental, birthday party, educational, and day camp programming. Our flagship program is the summer day camp, where campers from all over join us for fun, adventure, and traditions like nowhere else. In the summer, we will get on average 900+ campers every day with over 200 staff making the magic come to life. Sloper offers a mixture of traditional, ageless camp activities and new-age programs that mirror the interests of modern youth. Some of the activities include: Swimming, Archery, Arts & Crafts, Boating, Ninja Warrior Course, a Crystal Mine, the Sloper Express Train, a Tricycle Race Track, Basketball Courts, Wiffle Ball Field, 4-Square, a Library, a Nature Center, Low & High Ropes Challenge Course, a Climbing Tower, and brand new in 2023, new Bathrooms & Changing Rooms, a Splash Pad, New Pavilions and more!
