Donald Darnell Eaddy

Donald Darnell Eaddy, MSW has a diverse work experience spanning various sectors such as non-profit, social services, and political campaign. Donald Darnell currently holds the position of Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Civic Engagement at The Y in Central Maryland, where they manage partnerships and civic engagement initiatives. Prior to this, they served as the Managing Director of the National Capital Region at Living Classrooms, overseeing operations in that area.

Having been with The Y in Central Maryland since 2017, Donald quickly progressed through higher leadership roles, ultimately serving as the Executive Director of Youth Development. In this capacity, they provided strategic direction and leadership for youth development programs, managed a diverse portfolio of programs and partnerships, and served on the Senior Leadership Team. Donald Darnell also held the position of Associate Executive Director, where they oversaw program administration and talent leadership, leading and mentoring a large team.

Before joining The Y, Donald served as the Operations Officer at Stepping Stones Shelter, where they collaborated with stakeholders and agencies to develop programs supporting clients' transition to stable housing and addressing mental health concerns. Donald Darnell also worked as a Site-Based Program Specialist at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Chesapeake and as a Volunteer Outreach Coordinator at Business Volunteers Unlimited Maryland.

Furthermore, Donald gained valuable experience as an Ally with Public Allies, an AmeriCorps-funded program, where they served at non-profits in Baltimore City to increase their capacity. Donald Darnell also interned for the O'Malley Brown Campaign and the Law Office of Derrick G. Hamlin.

Early in their career, Donald worked as a Teller at Safeway, where they managed employees' schedules and handled training and processing of new employees.

Donald holds a Master of Social Work degree and has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and program management skills throughout their career.

Donald Darnell Eaddy, MSW, holds a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore, which they obtained from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Political Science at Morgan State University from 2006 to 2010. Donald Darnell also holds an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Computer Science from TESST College of Technology-Baltimore, which they earned from 2004 to 2006. Donald began their educational journey at Edmondson West-Side High School, where they completed JROTC from 2000 to 2004 to earn their High School/Secondary Diploma. Additionally, they are currently pursuing a Master of Social Work - MSW at the University of Maryland School of Social Work.
