Associate Vice President Of Talent Development at YMCA of Greater Brandywine

Karen Birmingham, M.S., SHRM-SCP has a diverse work experience in the YMCA community. Karen has held various positions such as Associate Vice President of Talent Development and Senior Director of Human Resources at the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. In these roles, Karen has provided HR consulting, led HRIS integration projects, and conducted compensation analysis. Prior to that, Karen worked as the Talent Acquisition Manager at the Greater Philadelphia YMCA, where they led staffing and recruitment efforts. Karen also has experience at the Central Bucks Family YMCA, where they served as Director of Member Engagement, Director of Volunteer Engagement, and Accounts Payable & Payroll Administrator. Additionally, Karen has been involved with the YMCA of the USA as a TOGETHERHOOD® Program Design and Facilitator. Overall, Karen has a strong background in talent development, human resources, member engagement, and volunteer management within the YMCA community.

Karen Birmingham, M.S., SHRM-SCP holds a Masters in Applied Leadership and Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, obtained in 2019. Karen also has a Bachelor of Science in International Business with a specialization in Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder - Leeds School of Business. In addition to their formal education, they obtained Multi Team Leader Certification from the YMCA of the USA in 2019 and Team Leader Certification in 2014. Karen also participated in a Study Abroad program at Université de Bordeaux, focusing on International Business.
