La-Vena Francis

VP, Operations at YMCA of Greater New York

La-Vena Francis has been with the YMCA of Greater New York since July 2000, where they are currently the Vice President of Operations. Prior to that, they were the Executive Director at the YMCA of Greater New York-Ridgewood YMCA from January 1998 to December 2000. Before that, they were a Facility Specialist at The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy-The New York & New Jersey Region from July 2000 to December 2018. In this role, they were responsible for developing working relationships between community based organizations and the Armory Civic Center. La-Vena also assisted with special events which included the Mayor, Commissioner, and other public officials.

La-Vena Francis completed their undergraduate degree at Brooklyn College, where they studied business management, marketing, and philosophy. La-Vena then went on to complete their graduate studies at The City College of New York.
