YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta
Becky Shipley has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Becky began their career as a Linguist in the US Army from November 1991 to September 1995. Becky then joined the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas from September 1996 to March 1998, where they planned and facilitated Girl Scout programming in underserved school areas. From March 1998 to July 2002, they worked as the Membership Director for the Girl Scouts Lake Erie Council, focusing on recruiting and developing volunteers for non-traditional scouting. Since July 2002, they have been associated with the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta, serving in various roles. Becky was the Executive Director from July 2002 to April 2018, responsible for financial development, volunteer recruitment, and staff development. From April 2018 to January 2023, they worked as a Group Vice President, and currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Learning and Development.
Becky Shipley obtained a BA in Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu in 1996. Continuing their educational pursuit, they pursued an MS degree in Non Profit Management from Regis University between 2000 and 2002.

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is an association of volunteers, members and staff, open to and serving all, with programs and services which build spirit, mind, and body. We serve more than 300,000 individuals with 21 full facilities, six additional program only sites and four childcare locations. The Y provides more than $5.5 million annually in financial assistance to support more than 25,000 youth, teens and families. The Y offers programs that serve kids, adults and families at all stages of life.
