Erica K. Faulkner

Erica K. Faulkner has extensive work experience in the field of communications and digital media. Erica K. began their career as a Reporter/Online Section Editor at The Standard Report in 2004 and later worked as an Associate Editor/Features Writer at Focus Magazine. In 2006, they joined COX Enterprises - Kudzu.com as a Web Content Producer before becoming a Freelance Web Writer and Editor for the CONSORTIUM OF UNIVERSITIES OF THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA.

In 2007, Erica took on the roles of Managing Editor at VOX Teen Newspaper and Narrative Therapy and Creative Writing Workshops Instructor at VOX Teen Communications. Erica K. also worked as a Part-time Journalism Instructor at Atlanta Country Day School during this time.

From 2011 to 2015, Erica worked as the Assistant Director of Web Content and Digital Media at Georgia State University Perimeter College. In this role, they managed web content, oversaw social media strategy, provided analytics and trainings, and served on various committees.

In 2015, Erica joined Gwinnett Technical College as the Director of Digital & Social Media, where they played a critical role in developing and implementing digital strategies.

Currently, Erica is employed at the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta. Erica K. first served as the Social Media Manager from 2016 to 2019, followed by the role of Director of Content and Social Media from 2019 to 2020. Erica K. then became the Executive Director of Communications from 2020 to 2021 and is now the Vice President of Communications.

Throughout their career, Erica has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.

Erica K. Faulkner holds a Master's degree in Journalism from Regent University, which they completed from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, with a minor in Business Administration, from Frostburg State University between 1999 to 2003. Additionally, Erica has acquired various certifications, including Google Analytics IQ Certification from Google in August 2019, a Social Media Marketing certification from Rockhurst University in 2011, and certifications in Content Marketing and Social Media Marketing from HubSpot Academy (exact dates not provided).
