K. Dawn Rutledge

K. Dawn Rutledge has extensive experience in communications and marketing roles. K. Dawn currently serves as the Director of Communications at the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, where they plan and executes internal and external communications strategies. Prior to this, they worked as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Belmont University and as a Communications/Community Engagement/Project Management professional at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. K. Dawn also served as the Director of External Communications & Public Information Officer at Metro Nashville Public Schools, where they managed crisis communication and developed strategic marketing initiatives. K. Dawn Rutledge has previous experience as the Director of University Publications at Tennessee State University and as an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Communication. K. Dawn also worked as part of the International Communications Committee for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, contributing to brand management and media relations. Earlier in their career, they held leadership positions at the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Cracker Barrel, and CABLE.

K. Dawn Rutledge holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from Tennessee State University. K. Dawn also has a Master of Science (M.S.) in Corporate and Organizational Communication from Northeastern University. Additionally, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism from Western Kentucky University.
