Denis Dinsmore is the Vice President of Finance at Comark Holdings Inc., a position they have held since June 2019. In this role, Denis oversees the financial structure of four businesses and the company’s accounting departments, including General Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Accounts Payable, Inventory Control, Banking and Sales Audit as well as Store Supplies Procurement. Denis ensures the timely, accurate and compliant reporting of financial statements for internal and external use, and manages month-end and year-end close process and associated audits. Denis also maintains adherence to internal controls to maximize profitability and safeguard company assets, and ensures integrity in financial statements through compliance with all company policy and procedures as established in the company accounting manuals.

In addition to their finance-related responsibilities, Denis also manages key relationships with auditors and lenders, oversees and coordinates company financial planning and budgeting, is responsible for cash management including all borrowing and reporting compliance, and manages company hedging program. Denis also oversees the national Loss Prevention program and Risk management, as well as compliance reporting of Provincial & Federal taxes. Denis regularly liaises with parent company’s legal and tax office as the financial representative to the Board ensuring appropriate oversight and dissemination of information. Denis leads a team of 18 through 3 direct reports.

Denis Dinsmore is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Denis received their Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Guelph in Management and Economics. Denis also has certification from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in Controllership and certification from the Center for Creative Leadership in Developing the Strategic Leader.
