Elijah Dowell

Elijah Dowell is an experienced executive in the nonprofit sector, currently serving as the Executive Director at the YMCA of South Hampton Roads since August 2025. Prior roles include Associate Executive Director at The Y in Central Maryland, Senior Director of Aquatics Operations at YMCA of Delaware, Director of Equity and Employee Experience at Piedmont Family YMCA, and Aquatics Director at YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas. Elijah's career began as Aquatics Supervisor at The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Kroc Center. Elijah holds a High School Diploma in General Studies from Indian River High School, graduating in 2014.
