Karese J. has had a varied career in the financial and non-profit sectors. Karese began their career in 2002 as a Deposit Operations Representative at First Federal Savings Bank. Karese then moved to CMC in 2004 as a Chargeback Representative. In 2010, they took a role as a Tax Associate at H&R Block. In 2011, they became a Customer Service Representative at Evansville Commerce Bank. In 2012, they took a role as an Enrollment and Match Specialist at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ohio Valley. In 2013, they became Office Manager at the Koch Family Children's Museum of Evansville. In 2017, they became a Community Impact Officer at United Way of Southwestern Indiana. Most recently, in 2021, they accepted a role as Grant Accounting and Compliance Coordinator and Grant Coordinator & Impact Evaluator at YMCA of Southwestern Indiana.

Karese J. began their educational journey at Indiana University Bloomington in 1995, but did not obtain a degree. Karese then transferred to the University of Southern Indiana, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2001. In 2007, Karese J. continued their education at the University of Phoenix, graduating with a Master of Business Administration in 2009.
