Stephanie Zaragoza's work experience begins in 1994 when they worked as a Senior Planner for Lee County until 1996. After that, they joined the Pinellas County Government as a Senior Community Development Planner from 1996 to 1998. In 1998, they transitioned to the YMCA of the Suncoast, where they initially served as the District Vice President for Central Pinellas County until February 2019. Following that, they took up the role of Vice President of Community Impact at the YMCA of the Suncoast from February 2019 onwards. In this role, they were responsible for developing relationships, coordinating grant writing, and leading a team to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.

Stephanie Zaragoza completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at the University of Florida in 1992. Immediately after, they pursued a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning, which they completed in 1994.

In addition to their formal education, Stephanie also holds various certifications. In October 1996, they obtained the American Institute of Certified Planners certification from the American Planning Association. More recently, in March 2021, they received the Certified Praesidium Guardian certification from Praesidium, Inc. Additionally, in May 2021, they obtained the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education.
