Christopher McKenzie

Christopher McKenzie, CPA has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting roles. Christopher'smost recent position was as VP of Finance at YMCA of the Triangle, starting in November 2022. Before that, they served as the Vice President for Administration and Finance at Barton College from December 2021 to November 2022, where they oversaw various functional areas, including accounting, internal controls, and cash management. Christopher also acted as the CFO and Controller at Barton College during different periods, where they managed accounting personnel, financial conditions, and implemented accounting changes. Prior to their tenure at Barton College, Christopher worked as an Investment Accountant at North Carolina State University, where they conducted operational due diligence and handled accounting tasks for the NC State Investment Fund. Christopher also worked as a Financial Advisor at dash and an Auditor at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Christopher'searlier experience includes ESL teaching at EF English First and various roles at PwC, including Senior Associate, Associate, and Intern. Christopher's career began as an Audit Intern at RSM US LLP and as a Summer Associate at Gridiron Capital LLC.

Christopher McKenzie, CPA has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, obtained between 2017 and 2019. Prior to that, they earned two Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees from North Carolina State University, one in Accounting with a Financial Analysis Concentration and another in Business Administration with a Finance concentration, completed between 2005 and 2009. Christopher also holds additional certifications including Certified Internal Auditor (CIA - Inactive), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE - Inactive), and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
