Angela Strickland

Angela Strickland has extensive experience in youth development and program management, particularly within the YMCA of Western North Carolina. Since June 2014, Strickland has served as Program Director, where responsibilities include staff training and maintaining compliance with required licensing standards across multiple sites. Previous roles at the YMCA include Youth Development Director and Summer Day Camp Youth Development Site Director, focusing on training, mentoring, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children. Strickland's career in youth programming began at McDowell County Schools, where significant experience was gained in supervision, staff evaluation, and maintaining program standards. Strickland holds a degree in Early Childhood/Administration with a focus on school-age care from McDowell Technical College.
