Carol Nelson

Carol Nelson is an experienced professional with a diverse background in program coordination, retail management, and organizational development. Currently serving as Program Coordinator at the YMCA of Western North Carolina since April 2021, Carol previously held the position of Assistant Store Manager at Chico's FAS, Inc. from September 2018 to April 2023. Carol's extensive experience in education includes roles as Organizational Development Specialist with the National Education Association from August 2003 to August 2014 and as UniServ Director with the Wisconsin Education Association Council between 1996 and 2003. Carol began a career in education with an Affirmative Action role at the National Education Association and an Affirmative Action Internship at WEAC in 1995. Carol holds a Master of Science in Special Education and Teaching from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, complemented by a certification in Community Organization and Advocacy from the Industrial Area Foundation.
