Mary Burton

Mary Burton has a diverse work experience in the field of Human Resources. Mary started their career in 1987 at SeaWorld and Aquatica San Diego, where they held various roles such as Director of Human Resources, Director of Management & Organizational Development, and Human Resources Development. In these roles, they were responsible for employee relations, workforce planning, community relations, compensation and benefits, and training and development. Mary joined YMCA of San Diego County in 2015 as the Association Director of Human Resources, where they focused on promoting the development, engagement, recognition, and retention of staff and volunteers. Most recently, they have been self-employed as a Retired Human Resources professional.

Mary Burton earned a B.A. in English from San Diego State University from 1986 to 1990. Mary then pursued an MBA at the University of Redlands from 1996 to 1999. In addition to their degrees, Mary obtained certifications including SPHR - Senior Professional Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute in 2005 and the Qualified Profilor Certification (360-feedback) from Personnel Decisions Intl in 2003.
