Dana Nelson

Dana Nelson has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Currently, they are the Vice President of Data Center Operations, Americas at Yondr Group since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Facebook, where they held the positions of Director, Data Center Operations - East from June 2019 to July 2021, and Engineering Manager from September 2018 to June 2019. Before their time at Facebook, Dana worked as a Project Engineer at MPR Associates, Inc. from 2016 to 2018. Dana also served in leadership roles in the military, including Division Chief at Joint Staff from 2015 to 2016, and Executive Assistant to the Commander at Navy Installations Command from 2013 to 2015. Dana has experience in commanding positions, such as Commanding Officer at USS CALIFORNIA (SSN 781) from 2010 to 2013, and Officer in Charge at Moored Training Ship 635 from 2007 to 2009. Additionally, they held executive officer roles on USS COLUMBUS (SSN 761) in 2006 and USS SAN FRANCISCO (SSN 711) from 2005 to 2006. Dana began their career as a Technical Assistant to the Deputy Director at Naval Reactors Headquarters from 2002 to 2004.

Dana Nelson holds a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, which was earned from the United States Naval Academy between 1988 and 1992. Following this, they attended Naval Nuclear Power School from 1992 to 1993, specializing in Nuclear Engineering. Dana later pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in National Security Affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School from 1997 to 1998.
