Gareth Davies

Gareth Davies is an accomplished archaeologist with extensive experience in archaeology and heritage consultancy. Currently serving as the Director of Archaeology and Head of Archaeology at York Archaeology since August 2020, Gareth has also been an Honorary Research Fellow and Visiting Lecturer at The University of Nottingham since 2013, providing specialized support and lecturing in various archaeological courses. Prior to these roles, Gareth held significant positions at Trent & Peak Archaeology, including Regional Director and Project Manager, as well as Project Manager at Archaeological Research Services Ltd. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Planning Archaeologist for Leicestershire County Council and various project roles at North Pennines Archaeology Limited, Norfolk Archaeological Unit, NETWORK ARCHAEOLOGY LIMITED, and Avon Archaeology Ltd. Gareth holds a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Nottingham, obtained in 2010.
