Karen Cooper-Brown

Karen Cooper-Brown is an experienced education consultant and educator with a career spanning several decades. Since 2009, Karen has been self-employed, providing expert advice to parents and students on individualized education programs (IEPs), curriculum choices, behavior modification, restorative mediation, and support for non-English speaking families. Prior to this, Karen worked for the York Region District School Board from 1977, holding various roles including teacher for grades K-8 across all subjects, as well as Vice-Principal and Principal, with a focus on Special Education, specifically learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and gifted education. Karen holds two Bachelor of Education degrees, one from Ontario Teachers College (now UofT) and another from York University, specializing in Special Education and Administration.
