Alfonso A. Vargas-Sánchez is a distinguished academic and professional in the fields of strategic management and tourism, currently serving as a Full Professor of Strategic Management and Head of GEIDETUR-Research Group on Tourism at Universidad de Huelva from 1993 to 2022, while also holding the role of Editor in Chief for the scientific journal ENLIGHTENING TOURISM. As a Visiting Professor at several international institutions, including York St John University and Royal Agricultural University, Vargas-Sánchez has contributed significantly to research and education. Additionally, Vargas-Sánchez co-founded the Euro-Asia Tourism Studies Association and has been an Honorary Member of the Itinerant Chair for a New Strategic Theory, actively participating in various prestigious academic networks and organizations related to tourism research.
