Carra Martinez, PhD, serves as the Co Artist Director of Fusebox and leads the Live in America festival, focusing on community-driven programming and diversity. Additionally, Carra is a lecturer at The University of Texas at Austin in the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, specializing in playwriting and directing. With extensive experience in community engagement as the Director at Guthrie Theater and previously at Penumbra Theatre, Carra has contributed significantly to the training of aspiring artists through various roles, including Teaching Artist and Doctoral Dissertation Fellow. Carra's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Theatre Historiography from the University of Minnesota and two degrees from The University of Texas at Austin in Curriculum and Instruction and English.
