Sean McGinn

Sean McGinn has extensive work experience in the entertainment industry, with a focus on marketing and brand management. Sean is currently the Co-Founder and Head of Marketing at YousicPlay, a role they started in September 2022. Prior to that, they were a Principal at SWM Consulting from September 2021 to September 2022.

From 2019 to 2021, Sean served as the SVP of Brand Management & Licensing at Skydance, where they led the business and monetization of Skydance content in the licensing vertical. Sean also managed the franchise strategy to maximize the long-term value of Skydance properties/brands.

Before joining Skydance, Sean worked as a Principal at SWM Consulting from 2016 to 2018. In this role, they provided strategic consulting and actionable brand/marketing insights for entertainment and tech start-ups, focusing on content creators, VR, and internet streaming companies.

Sean also has experience as the Chief Marketing Officer at The Metaverse Channel from 2016 to 2017. Sean served as the Originals Marketing Director at Netflix from 2014 to 2015, and as the Head of Television Marketing and Head of Global Brand Marketing at DreamWorks Animation from 2013 to 2014 and 2010 to 2013, respectively.

Prior to DreamWorks Animation, Sean worked as the Worldwide Marketing Director at Pixar Animation Studios from 2005 to 2010. In this role, they managed all aspects of strategy and implementation of worldwide theatrical and home entertainment marketing campaigns for new films and library releases.

Sean started their career as the International Marketing Director at Lucasfilm from 2004 to 2005, and as the Vice President of Business Development at Sony Pictures Entertainment from 2000 to 2002. At Sony Pictures Entertainment, they managed internal consulting projects and supervised a team covering business development activities for worldwide theatrical and video distribution.

Sean McGinn has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from The University of Texas at Austin, which they obtained from 1991 to 1993. Their field of study during this period was Marketing & Finance. Prior to that, from 1985 to 1989, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Economics & Political Science at UC San Diego.
