Mohamed Mezghani

President at Youth For Public Transport (Y4PT)

Mohamed Mezghani has a diverse and extensive work experience. Mohamed currently serves as the Secretary General of UITP since January 2018. Before this, they held the position of Deputy Secretary General from January 2014 to December 2017. At UITP, they also worked as a Projects Manager from March 2006 to December 2013, and as the Head of Middle-East and North Africa Office from June 2007 to March 2010. Mohamed started their career at UITP as a Senior Manager from 1999 to 2001 and later became the Director of Knowledge and Membership Services from 2001 to 2006.

Additionally, Mohamed Mezghani holds various roles outside of UITP. Mohamed is the Vice President of ESAE - European Society of Association Executives since June 2023 and a Board Member since June 2021. Mohamed is also a Member of the Board and Administrator of Femmes en Mouvement since October 2021.

Furthermore, Mohamed Mezghani is the President of Y4PT (Youth for Public Transport) since January 2018 and an Ambassador for the Dubai Association Centre since April 2015. Mohamed served as the Treasurer and Member of the Board for Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport from January 2020 to June 2022.

Moreover, they are a Member of the Advisory Board of Boardroom magazine since March 2017 until December 2021.

Before joining UITP, Mohamed Mezghani worked as a Project Manager at BCEOM, French Consulting Group from October 1990 to February 1999. Prior to that, they were a Studies Engineer at Agence de l'Environnement et de la Maitrise de l'Energie (ADEME) from October 1988 to October 1990.

Mohamed Mezghani pursued a Master's degree (DEA) in Transport from Ecole des Ponts ParisTech in 1987-1988. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies in Industrial Engineering at Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tunis from 1981 to 1987. Their secondary education was carried out at Lycée Français de la Marsa from 1979 to 1981, after attending Lycée Français de Sfax from 1968 to 1979.
