Yahaya Alphonse

York Region Leader at Youth In Diaspora

Yahaya Alphonse is currently the Head of Canada at Youth In Diaspora. Prior to this, they were a Fellow at Developing Young Leaders of Tomorrow, Today (DYLOTT) from March 2022 to August 2022. Yahaya has also worked as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Windsor from September 2021 to May 2022, where they assisted the professor in communicating to students and relaying students' questions. Alphonse has also worked as a Journalist at Core Middle East from July 2021 to September 2021, where they wrote articles on key issues and developed their writing and research skills. Additionally, they have worked as a Consultant at UNICEF from December 2020 to January 2021, and as a Young Diplomat at GLOBAL DIPLOMATIC FORUM from July 2019 to July 2019.

Yahaya Alphonse received their Master of Arts in Political Science (International Relations and Global Politics) from the University of Windsor. Yahaya also has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Hons) from Algoma University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Algoma University. Yahaya Alphonse has a High School Diploma from Southern Ontario College. Yahaya is certified by the Government of Canada in TCPS 2: Research Ethics, by the International Monetary Fund in Debt Sustainability Framework for Low-Income Countries (LIC DSF), by the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Financial Development and Inclusion, by the Canadian Mental Health Association in Mental Health First Aid, by Algoma University in Student Success Leader, and by Daystar Christian Centre in Excellent Leadership.
