Joseph Nixon, MS, CHCR, is the Vice President of Florida Operations and is responsible for the oversight of Florida programs including supervision, monitoring, and supporting the Florida Regional team. He is responsible for the implementation and execution of all operational policies and procedures; supervise all functions related to program operation to include adhering to regulatory standards; meet the mission for continuous quality improvement; jointly assist with systems and staff development, employee and youth morale, and training; lead facility budget reviews; oversee the selection of hiring, retention and staff development. For the past seventeen years, Mr. Nixon has been recognized by the Department of Juvenile Justice for his innovative practices involving the integration of family engagement and community-based services. Mr. Nixon has also been recognized by the Florida Drug and Alcohol Association and Department of Juvenile Justice as an “Unsung Hero” for his commitment to youth mixing compassion, concern, discipline, and guidance, encouraging all youth to meet their potential. Mr. Nixon is an active member of the Florida Juvenile Justice Association (FJJA) where he continues his work to improve the juvenile justice system. Mr. Nixon holds a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida and is a Certified Risk Manager at the University of Florida.
