Achal Shah

Achal Shah is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in deep learning, computer vision, and software development. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at YouTube since May 2019, Achal focuses on video infrastructure. Prior to this role, Achal worked as a Deep Learning Engineer at HypeVR, contributing to VR reconstruction algorithms and enhancing developer workflows through automation, resulting in improved release timelines. A graduate research assistant at Indiana University Bloomington developed deep learning pipelines for protein function predictions. Achal's experience also includes internships at Dolby Laboratories, where modeling for audio resolution was conducted, and a software engineering position at Tata Consultancy Services, specializing in embedded C++ development and system performance enhancements. Achal holds a Master's degree in Data Science from Indiana University Bloomington and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
