Marek Frackowiak

Marek Frackowiak has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Marek started their career in 1998 as a Database Programmer at Unit4, where they independently designed and implemented a cash and time reconciliation system for the HR department using Oracle as the back-end database and SQL-Forms as the user front-end.

In 1998, Marek joined ADB Polska as a Software Integrator, where they worked on software integration for European and American set-top box (STB) projects. Marek was responsible for planning software testing, debugging, and supporting acceptance tests at client premises. Marek also played a key role in the final software release.

In 2006, Marek joined ADB Taipei as a Technical Manager, focusing on STB software integration. Marek acquired expertise in STB SW integration and led APAC projects involving engagement with OEM/ODM STB hardware vendors. Marek coordinated a team of local and offshore engineers in the development and software integration of STB devices, which included various middle-wares (OpenTV, MHP) and Conditional Access Systems (Nagra, Irdeto, Verimatrix).

Since 2013, Marek has been working as a Technical Project Manager at YouView TV Limited. In this role, they collaborate with multi-disciplinary agile teams in a complex technical development environment. Marek is responsible for planning deliveries, managing dependencies, mitigating risks, driving issue resolution, and tracking execution across the full delivery life-cycle. Marek also monitors and reports progress against projects using defined tools and processes.

Marek Frackowiak obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Wrocław University of Technology, completing their education from 1993 to 1998. Marek also earned an Engineer's Degree in Elektroniczne Maszyny i Systemy Cyfrowe from Technikum Elektorniczne w Zielonej Górze, although the specific dates of this education are not provided. In terms of certifications, Marek is a Certified ScrumMaster® obtained from Scrum Alliance in 2017, and they also hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, obtained in 2013. In addition, they received the Communication Foundations certification from LinkedIn in October 2018.
