Norman Fung

Norman Fung has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Norman began their career as a Bartender at Score Bar and Lounge/Roccapulco Nightclub from October 2014 to December 2016. In 2016, Norman started working as a Freelance Photographer, where they built relationships with clients and provided post-production services such as editing and resizing/cropping pictures. Norman continued this freelance work until December 2020.

In 2018, Norman joined Happy Fish Swim School as a Swim Instructor, where they taught swimming lessons until December 2019.

Norman then transitioned into the field of software engineering, starting with their role as a Full-stack Developer at Software Engineering Applications/Project Juniper from May 2021 to December 2021. In this position, they designed, deployed, and scaled a backend and database for a retail web application, improving query times and achieving low latency with high traffic.

Norman then worked as a Full-stack Developer at Software Engineering Applications/Hackmasters from September 2021 to December 2021.

In September 2021, Norman joined Bytes Inc as a Frontend Developer until February 2022. Norman was responsible for designing and leading creative tasks, including logo redesign and color palette incorporation for a meal kit and healthy lifestyle web app.

Since March 2022, Norman has been working as an Information Technology Business Analyst at Yubico, utilizing their analytical skills to support business operations.

Throughout their career, Norman has demonstrated proficiency in various tech stacks, including JavaScript, React, Express.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS EC2, Nginx, and more. Norman is also experienced in using software for graphic design and video editing upon request.

Norman Fung's education history begins with their Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from San Jose State University, which they pursued between 2015 and 2018. In 2020, they attended freeCodeCamp to acquire a certification in Web Development. Later in 2021, Norman enrolled at Hack Reactor, where they completed a program in S/MERN Stack Computer Software Engineering. During their time at Hack Reactor, they obtained a Software Engineering Immersive certification. In addition to these formal educational achievements, Norman also obtained certifications in Javascript Algorithms and Data Structures from Udemy and Responsive Web Design from freeCodeCamp.
