Bogdan Matican

Bogdan Matican has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Bogdan currently serves as the Senior Director of Engineering at Yugabyte, where they lead the Distributed Storage and Transactions (DST) group. Prior to this, they worked as the Executive Architect at UCAR Technology (USA), focusing on building up initial AWS internal services and setting up ELK stack and ElasticSearch automation. Before that, they were a Software Engineer at Facebook Inc, where they led the design and implementation of scalability improvements and memory saving features for the Ads Conversion Tracking team. Bogdan also served as a Software Engineering Intern at Facebook Inc, working on testing new technology for request routing and data caching in the Photo Storage team. Additionally, they gained research and teaching experience during their time at Jacobs University Bremen. Bogdan Matican also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at both Facebook Inc and Ubisoft.

Bogdan Matican pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Jacobs University Bremen from 2009 to 2012. Later, they went on to complete their Master of Philosophy in Computer Science at the University of Cambridge from 2012 to 2013.
