Kannan Muthukkaruppan

Kannan Muthukkaruppan is a seasoned technology executive and co-founder of Yugabyte, where Kannan has held various leadership roles since February 2016, including Co-CEO and President. Prior to Yugabyte, Kannan was an Engineer at Nutanix from April 2013 to January 2016, serving as the technical lead for features such as deduplication and erasure coding. Kannan's experience also includes a role as Technical Lead for HBase development at Facebook from September 2007 to April 2013, where HBase supported critical functionalities for Facebook's infrastructure. Earlier in Kannan's career, from June 1994 to September 2007, Kannan was a Consulting Member of the Technical Staff at Oracle, contributing to the PL/SQL Compiler and Virtual Machine group. Kannan holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
