David Parker is an experienced academic and consultant with a strong background in data analytics and public health research. Currently serving as a Data & Analytics Consultant at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Parker designs and implements data systems to optimize financial, contract, and grant management. Previously, as Director and Professor at the University of Alaska Anchorage, Parker focused on predictive modeling and health outcomes using machine learning and natural language processing, collaborating with healthcare entities to enhance disease identification and service delivery. Additional roles include Associate Dean for Research at Adelphi University, where Parker oversaw IT integration in healthcare research, and Professor at West Virginia University, directing initiatives targeting public health challenges among vulnerable populations. Parker holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of South Carolina, complemented by extensive research in infectious diseases and health security.
