Aaron Thomas

Aaron Thomas is an accomplished executive and researcher with extensive experience in the edible insect industry and entomology. As COO and co-founder of Better Universal Grub since July 2019, Aaron has developed a leading range of edible insect meat alternatives and established a SALSA approved production facility, significantly increasing production capacity. In addition, serving as Chair of the Board of Directors for the UK Edible Insect Association, Aaron has advocated for improved Novel Food Regulations with the Food Standards Agency. Previous roles include positions as an entomologist and research scientist at Arctech Innovation, where Aaron scaled pheromone-based pest control products, and research technician at the University of East Anglia, contributing to studies on sexual competition in female insects. Aaron's educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Applied Ecology and Conservation and a Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology from the University of East Anglia.
