Sophia Vereen

Sophia Vereen, CCS CPC, serves as the HIM HB Supervisor at Yuma Regional Medical Center since August 2015, overseeing medical coding staff and ensuring the accuracy of patient medical records. Prior roles include positions as an Inpatient and Outpatient Medical Coder and Outpatient Coder II at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, and experience in coding at multiple organizations such as nThrive and Palmetto Health. With a strong background in reviewing and abstracting information across various medical specialties and coding systems, Sophia has also contributed to education through roles as an Assistant Instructor and ICD-10 Medical Coding Instructor. Sophia holds a Certificate in Medical Billing and Coding from Aiken Technical College and an Associate's degree in Business/Managerial Economics from Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
